Holy crap, sorry that there’s been such a massive gap in these blogs. I’d insert some awesome excuse here if I had one, but I really don’t have one other than juggling work and the stream. I’ll try and get these things more consistent, I think the hardest thing for me is just getting started, and after hearing Tim Ferriss talk about his quota of “2 crappy pages” a day, I think I can know out at least SOMETHING every day. It doesn’t even have to be 2 pages, it could be “1 crappy paragraph” a day, and with that I’d be able to put out a blog every week! That was just a really long winded way of letting you guys know that I’m gonna try to write more.
Oh, and the blog about all the other crazy stuff that’s happened in my neighborhood is coming! It involves (ALLEGEDLY), drugs, the paramedics, CPR, the police, mass amounts of strangers, screaming, Austria, and Nicholas Cage. I’m still working on putting it all together into something that resembles readable, so hopefully that will be the next thing I put out.
Ohai guise! Ok, so writing is actually really difficult for me and that’s why this blog took friggin forever to come out. Over the last couple of weeks the waifu and I have been SUPER busy, so I’m just gonna go over one of the more “memorable” things that happened recently. We had a little police trouble and guns got pulled.
Hey guys! Been awhile since I’ve posted one of these things and I feel terrible about it. I really have no excuse other than being a lazy fuck, so I’ll try and get better about keeping true to my writing schedule.
So we just had our very first cooking/social eating stream on Twitch and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came out! It was amazing and I really wanna do more of these (more cooking and less social eating. I feel like a fat fuck eating on camera), not only because they’re fun, but that way I can kinda improve my cooking and maybe begin to enjoy doing it on a regular basis. I think I’ve said it many times on stream, I HATE COOKING, but streaming it with the waifu was a blast! Normally if I’m making food for myself I just microwave something bland and cram it down my gullet. Maybe it was because of the booze or because of the people in stream, but I really enjoyed the whole process this time. So yeah, more of these kinds of streams!
Anyway, on to the 3 Bullets!
What I’m Watching
Real life anime fight
Jesus man, these guys are friggin AWESOME! It becomes even more funny if you’ve seen all the animes they are mimicking. You gotta watch it a few times and pickup on all the little funny things they say (listen out for what he calls the goons who are holding his friend hostage XD ).
So I’m going to start this blog off with a statement that is super cliche, “Stream what you want!”. I think that I have read that sentence, in one form or another, in just about every blog post I have ever seen on the topic of advice for small streamers, and it’s totally true to an extent. If you stream something you don’t enjoy on Twitch your viewers WILL know (THEY CAN SMELL FEAR! jk). You really can’t hide it if you don’t enjoy what you’re streaming, and that just makes it no fun for all parties involved, so just don’t do it.
“How do I get viewers on Twitch?” Just about every streamer has asked that question (internally or otherwise), and there are some pretty great articles/posts on reddit out there on the topic with sound advice. But even if you implement all those tips (ie. have a schedule, be consistent, communicate, etc.) it doesn’t really help if you don’t have any eyeballs on your channel. In comes game choice! I had a much longer blog post written before about how to pick a game (ie. between 100-1000 viewers, blah blah blah), but I’m all about actionable tips, so just pick one of the games below that you like and give it a shot. These are my top 10 games that got me new viewers right away, oh and these games on sale are all typically cheap, plus most have high replay-ability! 🙂
Hey squad! We just got back from our vacation to Hawaii (totally awesome wedding present!), which is why this blog is a little late. Sorry about that, and let’s all just pretend that I didn’t put on 10lbs from all the food and booze over the last week. k thx!
I absolutley love the Warhammer 40k universe, it’s just so dark and gritty with such amazing background stories. So even though it’s been quite a few years since I’ve played any of the tabletop games, I still watch/read/ingest anything lore related to the 40k universe. The Vaults of Terra is a channel that puts out WH40k lore videos (amongst other things) that give you a ton of interesting information and background (plus the dude has a pretty awesome accent XD ).
Here are a couple of my favorites to get you started, but pretty much all of the lore videos are awesome. Can’t wait for more in depth lore videos on the other races/species/armies!
Ok, some people made me realize that the first section of my “3-Bullet Blogs” (Brain Dump) are typically long enough to be an entire blog unto themselves. The idea with 3-Bullet Blogs was that it was supposed to be short and sweet with stuff that you guys can check out in only a couple minutes. So I’m changing the first section to “What I’m Watching”, where it will be a link/embed of a video or series that I’ve found interesting, and I’ll save the long form stuff for it’s own blog post.
So with all that said I’ll keep this one short!

Ok, now that we got that out of the way, I think that I’m going to try streaming to multiple platforms again using restream.io.
Multi-Platform Streaming With Restream.io
If you don’t know what restream.io is, you should go check it out. It’s a service that you stream to that turns around and streams it to multiple streaming services that you have accounts with, reducing resource usage on your end. Super easy to setup and has worked pretty well in my experience.
I have a couple of different reasons for wanting to try multi-streaming again:
Ok, so as I’m sitting here writing this it’s like 9am and I’m still super tired, need dat caffeine fix pronto! (or whatever is in Yerba Mate tea, I’m not big on coffee but I’ll talk about that in a later post).
I’m running on about 3hrs of sleep bc I was working on building a softbox for the new lamp I got as lighting for the stream, and I’ll be damned if I’m spending $30 when I built this one for $5! Actually, that’s not fair, if the softbox thing makes the stream look good I’ll probably buy a professional one, I just wanted to try it out first before I committed to anything (I’m really big on testing things before I spend a ton of money on it). I’ll probably do a write up on it in the future, as well as a write up on my $7 green screen, but back on topic!
So this is going to be my first blog, so reader beware it probably won’t be very good. But, if you don’t mind watching someone ramble on about things that don’t matter, fail to put together a coherent thought, write one draft with no proof reading, and basically butcher the English language then read on fellow adventurer!
I think the rundown of what I’m hoping to do with this blog is that it will basically be just my daily thoughts on things. Not just stream related (well, mostly stream related) but anything else that sort of comes up depending on my mood.
A little background on what I’ve been doing. I’ve been a viewer of streams since the days of Justin.tv, XFire, and an avid watcher of a ton of different streamers since Twitch.tv launched. I think I had always wanted to try it out but kept making excuses as to why I didn’t (not a good enough computer, not good enough internet, no good mic, wasn’t good at a game, etc.) but basically never even tried. So i started the stream twitch.tv/legbracestv (totally a plug, go watch it!) at the beginning of September of 2015, and holy crap I FRIGGIN LOVED IT!!!
Hey people! So after streaming for quite a few months I’ve decided to start a blog. Mainly I want to post my thoughts on things, not just about video games but life in general. I think what I’m hoping to do with this is to finally begin getting some type of…
